Mary Miksa is Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Texas Association of Business, an association of Texas companies and local chambers of commerce representing 1.2 million jobs in manufacturing, high technology, and service industries. Ms. Miksa, a 14-year TAB veteran, advocates for her members before the Texas Legislature and state agencies on legislation, regulations, and environmental public policy issues. She also staffs the association's Environmental Committee, a six-hundred-member committee that develops policy and positions on environmental issues.
Ms. Miksa has served on several significant committees at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and its predecessor, the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, including the:
- CARE Advisory Committee, on creating a voluntary program for additional air emission reductions among companies with “grandfathered facilities;”
- Small Business Environmental Compliance Advisory Panel, which she chaired for 9 years and which oversees the agency’s small business compliance assistance activities; and
- Task Force 21 which provided a forum for stakeholder discussions concerned with hazardous waste.
Prior to working for TAB, Ms. Miksa was the Executive Director of the Texas Civil Justice League, a coalition of trade associations, law firms, individuals and municipalities, working on tort reform in Texas.

Environmental Committee
TAB's Environmental Committee is a 650 member committee that develops policy and positions on environmental issues. The Environmental Committee meets four times a year in Austin. TAB members with an interest in environmental issues and policy are invited to attend. Minutes and handout materials are available on-line for Members Only.
