Lara Laneri Keel
Governmental Affairs Manager

Lara Laneri Keel is a Governmental Affairs Manager for the  Texas Association of Business.  Mrs. Keel's primary area of responsibility is health insurance issues at both the state and federal level.  She heads up the  Health Partners Task Force, a TAB coalition formed in 1997, seeking to establish a  clear and effective business voice on healthcare issues.  The task force is made up of over 500 businesses ranging from large corporations,  small business owners, and the public sector who are interested in preserving a private, market based health care system. Lara is also responsible for auto insurance  issues.

Before coming to TAB in February of 2000, Mrs. Keel worked in the Texas Senate for Senator Mike Moncrief, Chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, as his chief legislative aide for health and human services issues.  Prior to that, Lara was the policy analyst  for a Senate Committee dealing with long term care issues

In addition to her employment in the Texas Senate, Lara's  background also includes legislative affairs, fundraising and grassroots experience with several statewide trade associations.

Lara is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where she earned  a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in History.
